I propose to show a series of new works that interrogate the meaning, materials, and scenography of print in the 21st century. Rather than showing any printed works, the exhibition will display objects meaningfully related to the idea of the copy that lies at the conceptual heart of printmaking. The show will exist as exhibition in gallery, in a catalog, and on a website, thus enacting the duplication that the show investigates. Each object on display will be made in a small edition available for purchase via the show’s website. A magazine (that also serves as a catalog) will accompany the show. It will contain original and re-published writings, images of the objects, and related creative content and will be printed on a Risograph printer sourced locally by Eric Saline. This catalog will be produced inside of the exhibition during the week of the show.
